What are the side effects after you quit smoking

Vaping-or-SmokingIf you have recently quit or are trying to quit smoking, you may be thinking of switching to electronic cigarettes, but you are worried about the side effects. Tobacco is extremely harmful, which is why it is a good idea to quit smoking altogether. However, when you first begin using an E-cigarette, you may experience several unusual side effects. You don’t need to worry though, as these side effects are most often withdrawal symptoms due to quitting smoking. Your body is addicted, so it experiences cravings for normal cigarettes.

In this article, we will discuss some of the side effects of electronic cigarettes which you may experience.

Headaches

If you find yourself experiencing terrible headaches, this is completely normal as you may have taken in too much nicotine when smoking your e-cigarettes. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink plenty of water and to try using a lower nicotine strength.

When you are trying to quit smoking, your body may need some time to adjust. Therefore, your brain oxygen and chemical levels change. Do not fear, you will feel better in no time!

You may find yourself coughing up tar

This is another common issue when quitting traditional tobacco cigarettes. If this happens, it just means that your lungs are finally able to start cleaning themselves out.

Sore / Dry Throat or Nose

This problem is usually related to Propylene Glycol (PG), because your throat is adjusting from your usual smoke to vapor from e-cigarettes. If you have this problem, then try to drink a lot of water, and if it becomes very painful, you should visit your doctor straight away.

Muscle Aches

If you are experiencing achy muscles during your bid to replace cigarettes with e-cigarettes, it could be because Propylene Glycol is being converted into lactic acid in your body, which can cause muscle aches. Always drink plenty of water to get rid of the excess lactic acid.

Spots or Acne

As a result of giving up smoking, your body releases toxins which escape through the pores in your face. Sometimes these toxins get trapped and this is what causes acne or spots.

Quitting smoking is never easy, but it is well worth it in the end. Don’t be too alarmed if you find yourself experiencing any of the above side effects, as they are totally normal and are purely a sign of your body adjusting to a life free of harmful tobacco.
